The gap between a fixed dock and a pontoon deck is rarely a comfortable step. Depending on tide and how loaded the boat is, it can be a six-inch drop one morning and a fourteen-inch climb that afternoon. Guests hesitate, someone grabs the fence for balance, and the fence isn't built to be a handhold.

A single boarding step bridges that gap. Todd builds these as a mounted step that gives one intermediate landing point — enough to turn an awkward stride into two normal ones. It's the simplest possible fix for the most common complaint from anyone over sixty who rides on your boat.

It also works as a second step below an existing ladder or gate, and as a step-up onto a raised casting deck or bow platform on boats where the factory left that transition bare.

Sizing: one step covers a modest height difference. If your deck-to-dock gap is more than about a foot, or you're boarding from a floating dock that moves, look at a multi-step ladder instead.
