Sea Dog Marine Double Braid Dock Line 3/8" x 10ft - Black

A 3/8 in double braid nylon dock line, 10 ft long, in black. Double braid stays supple where three-strand goes stiff and unlays at the eye, holds a splice, and runs cleanly through a hand when it is thrown to a dock hand. Nylon stretches, and that stretch absorbs wake surge instead of putting a shock load on the cleats.

Ten feet is the short line: bow and stern lines at a fixed slip, a spring line on a lift, or the line kept aboard for a couple of hours at a restaurant dock. Boats generally carry four lines plus a spare, mixing 10 ft and 20 ft.
