The 1 lb disposable canisters are fine until you're three burgers into a cookout and the flame drops. This kit is how you stop buying them. It converts a Magma grill to run off a standard refillable LPG tank — the 5 lb bottle in the console locker, or a 20 lb grill tank on the dock — so you fill up once a season instead of stocking green cylinders.
It's the complete low-pressure conversion: regulator, hose and fittings, ready to connect between the tank and the grill's control valve. Running off a larger tank also means steadier pressure, which shows up as more even heat late in a cook rather than the slow fade a nearly-empty canister gives you.
Good to know: this is the low-pressure kit, which is what Magma's Marine Kettle, ChefsMate and Newport grills use. Check that your grill's control valve is the low-pressure type before ordering — high-output valves take different plumbing. The LPG tank itself is not included. Propane on a boat deserves the usual respect: mount the tank upright, in a vented space, and leak-test the connections with soapy water before you light it.
