Gen3 Marine 25LB Box Anchor Galvanized w/ Bag

A 25 lb galvanized box anchor supplied with a carry bag. A box anchor holds regardless of which way the boat swings, so it stays set at a raft-up or on a sandbar where a fluke anchor trips out as soon as the pull direction changes. It sets in sand, mud, gravel and grass, and it does not need the long scope a fluke anchor wants.

25 lb is the usual choice for pontoons in the 20 to 24 ft range. Heavier boats, strong current or steady wind exposure argue for the next size up.
