C.E. Smith 40" Post Style Trailer Guide-Ons – Pair, Unlighted

Loading a boat in a crosswind or a running tide is a genuinely difficult piece of boat handling, and it is made ten times harder by the fact that once the trailer is underwater you cannot see where it is. Guide-ons fix the visibility problem and the alignment problem at the same time: two vertical posts standing well above the waterline tell you exactly where the trailer is, and they physically funnel the hull onto the bunks.

These are C.E. Smith's 40-inch post style guide-ons — tall enough to stay visible on a deep ramp, and padded so that a hull nudging one on the way in does not leave a mark. C.E. Smith has been the default name in trailer hardware for decades, and the build reflects it: galvanized hardware, proper U-bolt mounting, and a post that does not flex away the first time a boat leans on it.

They mount to the trailer frame with the included U-bolts, so installation is a wrench job rather than a drilling job. Once they are set, single-handed loading stops being a two-person operation — you can line the boat up on the posts from the helm and drive it straight on.

Good to know: one box contains the pair (both sides) plus the U-bolt mounting hardware. This is the unlighted version. Fitment is by trailer frame size rather than by boat — these suit frames up to roughly 3" wide, and published height capacity varies slightly between sources, so measure your frame before ordering.
